Dearest Ande,
I am glad for your honesty in saying the interview didn’t go as well as you had hoped. After I called you on the phone Thursday to see how things went(I couldn’t wait for the blod) It hit me!! If you had gone in there and hit every “ball” back over the net like the perfect interview would have gone if you could have chosen, it might have felt like Ande had really triumphed. And just maybe, because the road felt really “rocky’, it really makes us unsure and more trusting in God and not in ourselves when we’re not really sure what the future does hold and more secure in who holds the future. I think you’re probably right where God wants you. Unsure of yourself, but sure of Him. Isn’t that where we all need to be? Those times when I’ve told God, ” God, I don’t see anything or anyway to “fix” this problem….I just don’t see it.” Then He dances in and does it. And I stand back in awe. I like to think of that as the Bible refers to it as “Coming to the end of myself”. He has never failed me yet. It’s not in His character. Thank You, God for reminding me of Who You are and who I am. Hi Ande, Just a quick comment on the trees, pinecone, and fire nature relationship…..
I went on a field trip with Ben in the 8th or 9th grade and we went to a forest. (cheap field trip, huh)? That’s where I learned that some pinecones did actually have to reach a very high temperature in order for the seed to be released and new growth actually occur. That was amazing to me because some of my family members are on the fire dept and Smokey the Bear has done a heck of a job promoting preventing forest fires, that we tend to think of a forest fire as one of the worse things that could happen. But God in His wisdom, does allow “fires” to open up the pinecone (us) and provide new growth, but oh, how we detest the fires, when in truth, that is when we are really growing in our faith and trust in Him.
